Nintendo Direct – July 2025: Full Recap and Key Announcements
Nintendo wrapped up July 2025 with a special Partner Showcase Direct, highlighting exciting third-party titles coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The presentation, lasting around 25 minutes, revealed a range of games set to launch later this year and into 2026.
Key Game Announcements
Octopath Traveler 0
A brand-new prequel in the popular Octopath Traveler series is coming on December 4, 2025. With beautiful HD-2D visuals and large-scale turn-based combat featuring up to eight characters at once, this title dives into the origins of the Octopath universe. Players will also be able to rebuild villages, explore new job paths, and craft weapons and armor.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
An HD-2D action RPG packed with nostalgia and modern flair is set to launch in 2026 for Switch 2. A playable demo is already available on the Nintendo eShop. The game combines retro pixel art with fluid action combat and supports cooperative multiplayer.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
The next installment in the Monster Hunter Stories franchise will arrive in 2026, delivering a fresh narrative and updated combat mechanics. Players can expect new monsters, characters, and enhanced visuals optimized for both Switch and Switch 2.
Once Upon A Katamari
A joyful return of the Katamari franchise comes with a new entry after more than a decade. Launching on October 24, 2025, this game introduces a new multiplayer mode called “KatamariBall,” where players compete to roll up objects in chaotic arenas.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
A brand-new musou-style game set in the Zelda universe is coming in Winter 2025, exclusively for Switch 2. Acting as a prequel to Tears of the Kingdom, the game promises epic-scale battles, new characters, and deeper lore connecting directly to recent Zelda titles.
